I've been kinda stressed lately.
I was glad that I didn't get a cold sore like I usually do when I'm stressed, but then I got a sore throat, which led to an achy back, which led to a stuffy nose, which led to a runny nose, which led to a cough, which led to sneezing.
All of which in general led to me feeling pretty cruddy.
Which naturally led to Chris feeling the same way.
So it was no surprise when J and C started feeling cruddy too.
.
But I'm not trying to complain about that.
This is what I'm complaining about:
Do you remember when Nyquil used to be the "Night-time, sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, stuffy head, fever, so you can rest medicine"?
Well it's not anymore.
They had to change the ingredients in order to stay on regular store shelves, so now its just the "Night-time, stuffy head, aching, fever, so hopefully you'll be deep enough asleep to not realize how crappy you feel" medicine.
And I'm irritated about it.
I'm doing my best to medicate myself and my family members often enough for us to get as much relief as possible, (with Nyquil and with other meds that have more ingredients), but I'm bugged that I can't just have my good old Nyquil.
Now someone is probably going to comment about how they changed the law and the ingredients to keep people from abusing it, yada yada yada.
I know.
I just don't care right now.
I want to feel better. I want my Nyquil.

I'm sorry I know it sucks when everyone feels bad, especially when you don't feel good yourself.
I hope you feel better SOON!, and I agree its a pain in the patut for those of us who had no plans to abuse the stuff, we just want to feel better. It is frustrating that they will only let me buy two boxes of certain meds at a time. don't "they" know that I have a husband and seven children who need it. I would be buying the stuff every two or three days and then "they" would really think I have a problem.
Any way, I hope your family feels better soon. (I have one home sick today).
Get well soon. My favorite stuff is Drixoral, which I have to ask the pharmacist for now, even though it's not prescription. Grumble.
Actually it's not because people abuse it, it's because people make meth out of it.
I'm sorry you're sick. When you start feeling better try Dayquil, it still works well.

Lydia,
Thanks for the sympathy.
Lillie,
We had the same problem when we were living in a group home and had 12 people living in one house, all of whom usually caught a bug at the same time.
Luckily the drug store down the street knew us and would let us buy large amounts. We just had to ring them up separately.
Jordan,
I will have to try the Drixoral. If you have to ask for it that probably means that they didn't sell out and drop ingredients just to stay on the regular shelf. So it's probably still pretty good.
Carrie,
I have heard that too. But there are still ways around the rules, like going to multiple pharmacies.
I bought dayquil, but when I compared I noticed that Tylenol Cold for Daytime has more ingredients.
Thanks for the advice and sympathy.

Get well quick!
I hope that you feel better soon! I hate when dumb people ruin good things for everyone else!
