One of God's great achievements is the instillment of maternal instinct and the development of a bond between a mother and her offspring.
This can be seen in all areas of nature and is truly a beautiful thing.
And thanks to zibabin.com for the pics.

That last mom has to be good, it's hard to catch a boy with one hand on his leg when he's jumping out of something. And with something else in her other hand. Wow.
Its just like your last post it is all in the perspective. Thanks for the laugh.
I totally needed that last picture you know!
It's awesome. She probably has him drinking Coke out of a baby bottle. My children behave as though they were raised by wolves...
Ha! I was prepared to leave a comment about how sweet this post is, and note that the one with the lion is actually showing paternal instinct, since it's a boy lion, but that last picture really caught me off guard. How did you get a photo of me without me knowing it?! Great post, thanks for the laugh!
You know, some mothers eat their young.--Liz
The 4th picture down from the left side with the Lion and his cub was taken by me on March 22, 2008 at the San Diego Wild Animal Park in San Diego, California. It was downloaded (stolen) from Flickr and was posted by someone claiming ownership with the zibabin.com watermark in the lower left corner of the photo. This is in copyright violation and I would appreciate it if you would remove it from your site as I was never asked permission for it's use. I do still own the original raw file from my camera if there is any need for proof of ownership. If you would like to request a copy without the zibabin.com watermark and provide proper credit to the picture, please comment back through this blog and we can make some sort of arrangement. Thank you.
well, I love the claim to be "mother and child" but the Lion picture of FATHER and child (presumably his cub).
Darrell,
I hope we can work out an arrangement to give you credit for the picture you took, but I am hoping to keep the picture on the site if I can.
I definitely want to give credit to the right person, and it really is a beautiful picture.
Sorry I haven't responded sooner, but I just saw your comment myself.
Please let me know what I can do.

Della,
1. How can one be 'unique' and 'just like everyone else'?????
2. I don't believe the 'mother' 'caught' the baby by the leg as he was jumping out of the stroller. He's too young to be jumping anywhere! Looks more like 'mother' was too lazy to bend down and pick him up properly. Shame on her! DCYS Anyone?
How am I "Unique" and "Just like everyone else"?
Therein lies the conundrum.
It's supposed to be a joke.
;)

How can I get a printable photo of the otter with baby? I would love to have one.

The last picture with the woman holding the baby upside down, could that possible be a babydoll? Just checking because it does look like it cooould possible be a fake (goodness, I hope so anyway).
