I may regret this later, but I am now registered to run the Virginia Beach Rock and Roll Half Marathon.
It's on August 31st. That only gives me 6 1/2 weeks to train.
I guess it's a good thing I'm already running 3 to 4 miles a couple times a week, but I'm gonna have to step it up.

Good for you! I plan on getting back into marathon training after I pop this baby out. I was using "The Non-Runner's Marathon Trainer" book. If you're already running 3-4 miles a day that would definitely get you there. I don't know about any other training helps because, frankly, I'm not a runner. It took me from running a single lap to going 3 miles in 5 or 6 weeks.
