Riddle Me This! (Puzzle)

I haven't done any puzzles for a while, so here you go.
1. Unscramble the below 8 words.
E V A W
P I M L Y
M A I L A S
S H U D A N B
N I J O
T O V E R
P R I S I T
T R O M I N O
.
2. Why are 1980 pennies worth more than 1979 pennies?
.
3. If you were trapped in a room with no way to get out, but you had:
a piano
a baseball bat
a saw and
a table
What are 3 ways you could escape?

still working on the words in one.

1980 pennies are worth more because there is one more of them.

I would get out of the room by using the saw and cutting table in half , and then putting them together and make a whole and then climb through the whole.

1)
wave
imply
M A I L A S - no clue
S H U D A N B - nope, no clue
join
voter
spirit
T R O M I N O - it's the end of the day, no clue

2) I have no idea because I couldn't figure out it was counting them until I read the previous comment

3) a. I could play the piano until someone hears me (it would hurt anyone's ears, so they'd look for me to shut me up)
b. I'm assuming I'd have to know how to use the saw in order to use it to escape, so it's probably useless.
c. If there's no way out, aren't I stuck, regardless of what's in there with me?

I really think I suck at riddles...

Saw through the walls - assuming they are sawable. Pound on the piano until someone couldn't stand it and came looking for you. That is the best I can do. Mom

Good answers.
Tracy,
you are right on the words you got, keep working on them.
Lillie and Kids,
Good job. You are right on 2 and have one of the correct answers for 3.
The trick for 3 is that you have to think differently.
I bet more second graders would get these answers than adults because they haven't been trained into the same conformed thinking patterns that we adults have.

Keep trying, I'll post the answers tomorrow.

For #3, use Lillie's suggestion two more times, once cutting the piano in half and once cutting the bat in half.

Good job everyone.
Apparently these were harder than I thought.
Here are your final (and obvious) clues:

Tromino- you are looking at one right now. (Yes, you are).

#3. What does a piano have that could open a door?
If you swing a baseball bat 3 times what happens?

Della Hill said...

Okay, okay, I give.
The last unknown word TROMINO is MONITOR.

for #3, you use a key from the piano to open the door to get out of the room.
Or, you swing the bat times, and you're OUT!

I'll try to find easier ones next time.

You didn't say there was a door, no fair!

The last unknown word: salami. I supposed some types are okay; however, for the most part I do not care for salami. Purhaps no one else cares for it either and therefore did not bother to publish their guess...

I have been monitoring what others came up with on the words. Alas, to no avail.
