This is the story of Rick and Dick Hoyt.

The father and son team who compete in marathons, triathalons and Ironman races together.

Not side by side though, as some father and son teams do. This pair competes with Dick (65) pushing Rick (43) in his wheelchair, or towing him behind him in a dinghy while swimming, or on a sled while cross country skiing.

So forget about your own problems and sit down and shut up for about 6 minutes to watch this video.

You can read more about these guys on Snopes or at the Hoyt's own website.

Thanks to my niece Echo who sent me this story.

My favorite line:

"It must be a buzzkill to be a 25 year old stud getting passed by an old guy towing a grown man in a dinghy, don't you think?"

First- Is your nieces name really Echo?or is that a nickname. The more I think about that name the more I like it.

Second-
What a great story. I love it! Thanks for sharing.

Lydia-
Yes, I love where he talks about how running with his son gives him something extra that helps him go faster.
Pike-
Yes, her name is really Echo. She was named after a character in a Louie Lamour book.
In fact her middle name is Lamour.
Glad you liked the story.
-Della
